Lived at Lodge road at time of marriage. Illiterate.

In 1851 census she is described as aged 15 (therefore born in 1836), the daughter of Ann Evans, widow aged 71, described as head of the household without an occupation. Three lodgers are identified - Charles Stanforth (33, labourer), Thomas Goode (20, labourer) and Ruben Barnett (25, mason). Their address was 45 Lawley Street, Birmingham.

If Ann was Charlotte's birth mother, Ann was aged 56 when Charlotte was born. It is likely that Martha Shuker died and Samuel Evans remarried (Ann).
